A lovely pair napoleonic style lamps
Triangle-shaped base and foliage ornaments
Faux bronze with a patinated look.
The lampshades are hand made with silk fringes
Condition : The lamps are in a very good condition
The lampshades are in a used condition and contain some spots visible in close up

Empire is an early 19th century design movement in architecture, furniture, other decorative arts and visual arts.
It represents the 2nd phase of neoclassicism.
Popular between 1800 and 1815, the period of the Consulate and the First French Empire, although it lasted until the late 1820s.
The Empire style originated in France from which it spread to Europe and the United States.
The Empire style derives its name from the reign of Emperor Napoleon I in the First French Empire,
when it was intended to idealize Napoleon's leadership and the French state.
The previous fashionable style in France was the Directoire style, which replaced the neoclassicism of the Louis XVI style with more restrained and minimalist forms. The new Empire style brought a full return to ostentatious wealth.
