1860s French Louis Philippe Giltwood Mirror
About the Item
An elegant Louis Philippe giltwood mirror, with the signature rounded upper corners so reminiscent of the period. The frame's inner edge is adorned with a frieze of tiny 'pearls' to enclose the mirror plate, while the four sides are etched with a contrasting design of dashes and curves. Louis Philippe mirrors, with their clean lines and versatile shape, are a popular choice in traditional or contemporary home settings. There are some minor imperfections and some very light foxing to the lower corner, as would be expected with a piece of this age and usage, but this does not in any way detract from its charm.
