About the Item
'Momentum Mirror' by Soo Joo is an asymmetric and organic wall mirror. It has a timeless aesthetic, and the distilled form fits into any interior. Thirty to fifty layers of thin wood veneer are carefully laminated in place to create the form, and then hand-carved into shape. The beauty of twisted wood is preserved into a solid mirror frame through traditional bent-lamination techniques. The undulating thin and thick frame creates a timeless and poetic flow. The artist reimagines the essence of traditional Korean aesthetics in a modern context. Her intuitive eye for forms come from the artist’s background in fine art.
Momentum Mirror can be created in two sizes: 17 x 37" shown in the photos above, and in a larger size 21 x 49". It is hung with an invisible french cleat and hangs flush on the wall.
