About the Item
Eight volumes of limited edition works by the noted writer Daniel Defoe, including his best known works about the popular character Robinson Crusoe, bound in crushed half morocco.
Limited edition. Limited to 775 copies.
Bound in crushed half morocco with cloth to the boards.
Illustrated with a double page map to 'Serious Reflections', a monochrome frontispiece, title page vignette and five plates to 'Further Adventures', a monochrome frontispiece to 'Fortunate Mistress', illuminated letters and headpieces to 'A Journal of the Plague Year', a monochrome frontispiece, title page vignette and seven monochrome plates. Collated complete.
Eight volumes.
This set features a collection of limited editions of the works of the popular author Daniel Defoe, best known for his novels about the character Robinson Crusoe. These limited editions are facsimiles of the first or early editions with facsimiles of the original title pages.
This set includes; 'Moll Flanders', 'Memoirs of a Cavelier', 'The Fortunate Mistress', 'Colonel Jack', 'The Journal of the Plague Year', 'Serious Reflections of Robinson Crusoe', 'The Further Adventures of Robinson Crusoe' and 'The Life and Adventures of Robinson Crusoe'.
Rebound in crushed half morocco with cloth to the boards. Externally lovely with only the odd slight mark and light fading to the extremities of the boards to the odd volume. Endpapers renewed. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages.
