Anne Sexton Signed Galley & First Edition, The Death Notebooks

About the Item

The proof (printed before the hardcover, sent out to reviewers) and final first printing, first edition of American poet, Anne Sexton's final collection of poetry printed in her lifetime. Inscribed, "This proof is a ghastly mess," signed, and dated by Anne sexton, the proof is one of very few that survive. That this pair of artifacts represents the final output of the Pulitzer-prize winning, rock star poet makes them especially collectible. Both, galley and finished hardcover are in excellent condition. The final book is not signed, only the galley. Anne Sexton was the best-selling and most famous poet of her generation. Her readings attracted audiences in the thousands.
