Presented with a new archival slipcase. Presented is a first edition printing of The Memoirs of Richard Nixon, signed and inscribed by Richard Nixon on a pasted down bookplate. The “Personally Autographed for” book plate is inscribed, “Milton J. Huhn with best wishes from Richard Nixon 1-25-80" in blue ink. The book was published in New York by Grosset & Dunlap, in 1978. The book is presented in its original dust jacket and blue cloth boards, protected by a new archival slipcase. Richard Milhous Nixon was the 37th president of the United States. Before that, he was a lawyer, served in the Navy, and in Congress. This autobiography of the former-president details the entirety of his life through his resignation. Beginning with his childhood and schooling, the book covers his early days as a U.S. Representative and Senator as well as the political issues he encountered both foreign and domestic. The autobiography ends with Nixon’s presidency and the circumstances of his resignation. Richard Nixon is still the only person to have resigned from the office of the President leaving this autobiography the only firsthand account of such an incident. CONDITION: Good condition overall. Original dust jacket, with some bumping to top and bottom spine, light creases. Sunning to the spine. Original blue cloth boards with gilt stamps and titles to the front board and spine. Signed and inscribed on pasted down “Personally Autographed for” bookplate that is inscribed “Milton J. Huhn with best wishes from Richard Nixon 1-25-80” in blue ink. Clean and healthy interior pages. 1120 pp. Presented with a new archival slipcase, with an inlaid portrait of Nixon on the front. Book Dimensions: 9 1/2" H x 6 3/4" W x 2 1/4" D.
