Rare George III Period Sterling Silver-Mounted and Carnelian Scottish Snuff Mull

About the Item

Unusual, rare, Georgian (George III) Period, sterling silver-mounted (unmarked, but tested) ram's horn snuff mull, having a hinged lid with a large carnelian stone central that hinged lid, Scotland, Ca. 1790-1810. Measures 2 3/4 inches high (when standing on end) x 1 1/2 inches diameter across lid (widest point). Sterling silver mount is beautifully designed. Dark areas in photos on sterling silver are reflections. In very good antique condition.
