About the Item

Edward William Godwin (attributed), a walnut four-fold screen, bevel glazed, with woven silk and velvet panels. This incorporates many design details of Godwin's Anglo-Japanese works. The woven silk and velvet panels as in the Godwin fire screen, lot 96. See also Christie's sale 'Important 20th Century Design' 26th May 2005, lot 51 for another Godwin fire screen.
