Unique Art Nouveau Screen Handcarved Leather & Oakwood, Denmark, 1910s
About the Item
Amazing unique screen or room divider made in Denmark in the early 20th century. The screen is made from hand carved leather with medieval courtly motif typical for the late romanticism of this period called "skønvirke" (Art Nouveau) in Denmark. The frame is skilfully executed by a cabinetmaker in beautifully patinated oakwood. The custom made brass hinges allows for the screen to be folded in different directions.
