18th/19th c European Oak Dome Top Trunk with Carved Shell Decoration
About the Item
A fine 18th/19th century European oak dome top trunk with original hardware, including iron strap hinges, heavy brass handles and urn form escutcheon, dovetailed and pegged construction, interior till, and shell carved decoration along the base. The trunk is in very good overall condition, with great overall patina, some edge losses, shrinkage cracks, and other minor imperfections and wear commensurate with age and use. Includes original heavy locking key. Dimensions: 35 in H x 47 in W x 21 in D. Ref: 8
