Victorian mahogany music stand
This Victorian mahogany music stand was made circa 1870.
Having the wonderful pierced fretted support with the lyre design, the stings being made of brass.
The stand can be adjusted for height by releasing the brass pole with the turned knob, then you can raise it to your required height.
The reading stand also can be adjusted to allow it to be set in different angles as it has a support with multiple settings.
It stands on a well-turned column with the 3 cabriole legs that give perfect stable support as you read your music.
In the 1870's people found the time to amuse themselves by playing musical instruments as there were none of the modern pastimes we have now. Therefore the upper middle classes wished for lovely music stands to while away their hours of free time. This is a fine example we are leased to offer you.
