In an interview with architect Tatiana Sakurai (2009), Almeida emphasized that he works - (...) against the flow of the culture for industrial design - and believes tha - this is one of the characteristics of Brazilian art and design -. For him, - Brazilian culture is born of the impasse, of the creative gap that exists between not knowing how to do something and having to do it.
