The Roma fiberglass chair by Marco Zanini for MEMPHIS (1986).
This exotic chair (throne) is a radical MEMPHIS experiment with an unorthodox material created by Marco Zanini, one of the inceptors of MEMPHIS & Ettore Sottsass' partner at Sottsass Associati (Architetti) in Milano Italy. The theory was to conjure up a chair that could be molded & mass-produced, though in the end the workmanship demanded a different level of expertise --- thus a very rare product. Available in black pearlescent or green, it is a true conversation piece in any room, lobby or master bathroom (it's waterproof!!).
