Wooden armchair by René Gabriel

About the Item

Rare armchair by French designer René Gabriel (1890-1950) from the 1950s. The armchair's frame is made of solid oak, with a beautiful patina, and the backrest and seat are upholstered in white/ecru bouclé fabric. Good overall condition. In 1944, the Ministry of Reconstruction and Urbanism entrusted him with the responsibility of creating emergency furniture.
