Set of 8 Pierre Jeanneret Dining Chairs

About the Item

A terrific matching set of 8 floating back armchairs by Pierre Jeanneret for the Chandigarh Project. These examples are rather desirable as they are executed in Indian rosewood or Sissoo wood. Many have remnants of existing stencilling designating the origin and location the chairs came from. These chairs have been sympathetically restored with a light hand sanding and oil/wax finish. No stains or lacquers are ever used. This brings out the original colour and life of the wood. Caned prior to arrival to me in India by a family that has been working on these chairs for generations. A great original set of matching chairs.
