Set of 10 Schmieg and Kotzian Dining Chairs , USA

About the Item

These chairs are crafted with the superb attention to detail for which Schmieg and Kotzian is renowned. The exotic zebra wood has a rich high gloss finish. The legs gently taper and the back legs have a saber form. The bottom aprons feature a subtle recessed detail. The upholstery is styled with 5 button tuxedo style back. Although the current velvet fabric is serviceable it is worn and should be replaced. The chairs were attributed to the designer Eugene Schoen a celebrated early modernist but are stamped only with the Smieg and Kotzian mark. There are 8 side chairs and 2 arm chairs. The side chairs are 18" wide, 24.5" depth, height 34.5". The arm chairs measure 22" wide, 25" depth, 35.5" height. Both have 19" seat height.
