Early Eero Saarinen Knoll Womb Chair & Ottoman, Blue Upholstery, Black Frame

About the Item

Early Eero Saarinen Knoll Womb Chair, Blue Upholstery, Black Wrought Iron Frame. Being sold as is. The chair is in original condition and will need new upholstery if you're planning on lounging in it. The foam is hard (fried inside) in several spots and there's fading and unevenness to the blue fabric. The chair dates from the mid 1950's and features a plywood shell and a black wrought iron outer frame with slip-on boot glides. Please note that one of the black legs is slightly splayed which produces a wobble but can be straightened as the wrought iron is quite pliable. The ottoman's frame is embossed with the numbers 69 - see photo 20.
