Herman Miller Rosewood Eames Lounge Chair 1960s

About the Item

About as iconic as they come. The Eames 670, more commonly known as the Eames Lounge Chair was the brain child of the modernist masters Ray and Charles Eames. Conceived in 1956, it's only undergone a handful of iterations. This example is a second generation model, featuring a heavier swivel base, rubber shock absorbers in the back, and most importantly the old-style cushion clips. Designed to wear like an old catchers mitt, the down filled leather cushions have the vintage appeal that contemporary examples can't even begin to approach. The rosewood is sun kissed resulting in a grain that can't be replicated by today's Palisander models. Unfortunately, this is missing its ottoman. But that also means this is the perfect chair for apartments, a bedroom, or any other location where an ottoman couldn't fit comfortably.
