Patio Lounge Armchairs by Tropic Cane of Hong Kong

About the Item

These are loved chairs and often sold and attributed to a vast number of designers from Jean Royere to Arthur Umanoff, of which none is correct. These are the first we have found with actual labels and they are from a little known company called "Tropic Cane" which produced the furniture in Hong Kong and more than likely sold through a store in California in the 1970's. These chairs are 25" wide, 27" deep, 32" tall with an arm height of 26.5" and a seat height of 16". the balls are plastic attached to the feet and are original. They are a tubular steel construction over which rattan and wicker cane has been placed. They are incredibly strong and can be used outside as patio furniture or inside. Despite the breaks of Rattan they will last for decades longer and are in fair condition and priced as such.
