Rare Kone lounge chairs, designed by Australian industrial designer Roger McLay. The seat is formed from a single sheet of plywood, bent into a sleek cone shape. Black steel frame provides sturdy support. An important Australian design, the chairs are epitomize the postwar era of innovative use for industrial materials. Overall in good condition. The plywood has clean edges, free of any chips. Faint scratches to the metal legs. Australia, 1950s.
