18th Century George III Mahogany Inlaid Irish Bookcase Cabinet 1780s
About the Item
Irish bookcase, Georgian era, circa 1780, mahogany and inlaid with fruit woods. Marvelous proportions and exceptional quality are the woods used for its creation, neither too flamed nor too simple and without veins. Beautiful Sheraton fans, on the sides of the drawers, on the top and doors, connected by boxwood wires around the perimeter. Peculiarity is the secretaire inside the showcase. So we have four drawers useful for storing tablecloths and the like.
To be restored, there are no locks and there is a broken glass, the keys are unfortunately not available.
The beauty of this wood and this piece of furniture is still hidden by the old polishing. if you can imagine it, finished, with imagination, it is a "Mrs. Bookcase".
Like all our furniture is accompanied by a “Certificate of Authenticity”.
