Mid-19th Century French Louis Philippe Period Burl Elm Buffet or Sideboard
About the Item
This Louis Philippe period buffet from the nineteenth century is constructed of solid burl elm. It features two upper drawers fitted with bronze drawer pulls detailed with a central rosette, shells, flowers and scrolling. Two lower doors open to allow access to the large cavity space inside the cabinet. A single interior shelf provides ample storage. The doors are fitted with bronze escutcheons detailed with wreaths and palmettes. With warm wood tones and simple lines, this piece will mix well with both contemporary and traditional spaces. Includes one key with functioning lock, circa 1830-1848.
