Late 19th Century French Walnut Louis XVI Style Three Drawer Commode
About the Item
Found in the South of France, this 19th Century French Louis XVI Style Commode or Chest of Drawers was crafted from old growth Walnut by furniture artisans in the late 1800's. The piece features a rectangular planked top sitting above three drawers showcasing their original brass hardware. Each of the three drawers have been hand dovetailed and presents a brass key escutcheon plate although there are no locks or keyholes present. The commode is flanked with reeded carved side posts on two sides in the front and raised for four tapered legs. This Late 19th Century French Walnut Louis XVI Style Three Drawer Commode with it's clean lines and aged patina will bring a Classical presence to any bedroom, living room or foyer.
