Pair of Italian 19th Century Charles X Period Cherrywood and Marble Commodes
About the Item
A striking and most impressive pair of Italian 19th century Charles X period cherrywood, birchwood, and gris St. Anne marble commodes. Each four drawer chest in raised elegant ball feet with a beautiful patinated birch foliate wrap around band. Above the straight frieze are the four drawers each displaying striking and most decorative pierced scrolled foliate designs and fine palmettes set on a beautiful Cherrywood background. Handsome fluted columns lead up each side with foliate capitals while the sides display lovely Cherrywood panels. Above are the original Gris St. Anne marble tops.
