Early 19th Century Mahogany Davenport by Gillows of Lancaster
About the Item
A superb quality early 19th Century mahogany davenport stamped Gillows of Lancaster, the desk having a panelled hinged door opening to reveal an arrangement of four graduated mahogany lined drawers with the original brass recessed handles, two pull out writing slides on either side, a concealed pull out out pen drawer to the side complete with a pen tray and ink wells, the fall front having a green inset tooled leather which lifts up to reveal a storage well and four small drawers, two dummy and two working drawers, the desk panelled on each side and raised upon turned feet. Circa 1820.
