Early 20th Century French Wooden Shop Counter

About the Item

This vintage wooden shop counter has a straightforward yet refined character, accentuated by the gentle patina of the warm wood. Built in France in the early 20th century, the glass-topped display case set into the top of the counter indicates that this piece would have likely been used to exhibit jewelry, or a similar array of beautiful, valuable items. The cabinet itself is simple and sturdy; the neat pin-stripes of the vertical paneling provide a clean, graphic accent. The open shelves on the reverse side of the cabinet provide ample storage space, while little diamond-shaped lock pieces add an elevated touch.
