Børge Mogensen Oak Sideboard BM57 for P. Lauritsen & Søn, Denmark, 1957

About the Item

Beautiful sideboard model BM57 designed by Børge Mogensen in 1957 for P. Lauritsen & Søn. Oak wood with two bi-fold doors and brass hinges. One key is included. The interior layout with two shelves and 4 drawers can be easily changed manually. Very good original vintage condition with minor signs of use. The sideboard has beautiful details and shows the great craftsmanship of the Danish cabinetmakers in the 1950s. The series designed for P. Lauritsen & Søn where in that period exclusive and expensive, but Mogensen felt it was important that the furniture did not seem pretentious. Børge Mogensen is a master of elegant simplicity with a good sense of proportions and use of materials. His designs have a perfect balance of aesthetics, ease of use and comfort.
