Long Three Drawer Country Oak Server, Geometric Moulded Front
About the Item
A handsome English dark oak server, console or sideboard with a geomtric pattern on the 3 drawer fronts. Although this piece is mid 19th Century, it has all the sensibilities of a much earlier period, specifically Jacobean. Original brass teardrop escutcheons add to this look. The drawers are in good condition but slide in and out without runners, much as would an early English piece. There is a small knothole at the back of the top, shown, which has been filled with bees wax in the traditional manner.
