Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this stunning, original circa 1900-1920 Burr Walnut free standing wardrobe with Military Campaign Chest of drawers built inside Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price This wardrobe is a work of art, it has one of the most attractive timber grains I have seen in a long time, it is quarter cut walnut which is lightly burred, it looks like a work of art. Inside you find a very well thought out bank of drawers and some shelves all made in the Military Campaign style with flat brass handles This is the best kind of antique because not only is it stunning to look at, it is functional so will continue to be useful, the main body breaks down into two sections for ease of transport and installation The timber has been cleaned waxed and polished from top to bottom, it is nicely aged and patinated throughout Dimensions Height:- 195.5cm Width:- 125cm, Middle line point 60cm Depth:- 63cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.

    This important chest of drowers, wardrobe, in solid walnut, is masterfully carved by hand by the great sculptor artist Vincenzo Cadorin and his Atelier performers: floral motifs and classic art nouveau shapes, carved and embossed All original and functional key locks. The mirror, original, has oxidations in the bevelled part, and, on request, we can apply a new mirror The furniture has been treated with woodworm and we have covered the passive holes Measures cm: H 225, W 135, D 55 About Cadorin Vincenzo (1854-1925) Venetian sculptor born in 1854, he was trained in the studio of Benvenuti, he then studied at the Venetian Academy. In 1883 he exposed his first works in Rome and in the next year he won the Gold Medal in the exposure in Turin. (Luisa GIORDANO, Cadorin, Vincenzo, in Biographic Dictionary of the Italians, XVI, Rome 1973, p. 97). His most known work is the gilt carved wooden desk given to the Pope Pio X for his sacerdotal jubilee in 1908; the desk is now in the Basilica della Salute in Venice. He died in 1925.
