Queen Anne Cherry Tea Table
About the Item
An excellent Queen Anne Cherry bird cage tilt top tripod table probably Connecticut 1780-1800. This table is in excellent condition and retains a very old refinish and great color and patina to the Cherry. The top is 1/2” out of round in the diameter as any early table top should be from shrinking over the years. Small wood pins join the top boards together.
A beautifully designed turned base with three nicely carved chamfered cabriole legs ending in large pad feet. The underside of the dovetailed base still retains the original iron. A very nice table with the original top, base and Brass catch and latch. Original tables as this one that aren’t a marriage of the top and bottom and haven’t had the hardware replaced are getting harder and harder to find.
