An early 20th century centre table after Maison Jansen with a white Carrara marble top and stylised ormolu dolphins adorning a lacquer wood base.
Jean-Henri Jansen, originally from Denmark, founded the interior design house Maison Jansen in Paris in 1880. Jansen began creating traditional interiors that also incorporated the prevailing trends of the age such as the Japanese style, the Arts and Crafts movement and the Turkish style.
