About the Item
This piece quietly challenges the archetype of a bench with the unexpected proportion of the legs and hidden detailing. A single plane effortlessly floats across the legs. A continuation of the Nº 101 Dining Table.
Beautifully crafted with high grade solid wood and handmade by a master woodworker in New York. The table is finished with a hard-wax oil produced in Belgium. It is a non-toxic yet hard wearing finish that works by permeating the wood rather than sitting on the surface.

The work of Ameé Allsop studio explores design beyond her architectural background - in the form of collectible objects and furniture. The work is about process, materiality and form. Each material has qualities and constraints which inform the pieces and poetic possibilities. Equally each process of working with the artisans permeates the soul of the objects - with the touch of the hand. There are truths in making but there is also mystery. And it is in this passage that joy is found in order to create something unique.
