A 19th century oil painting on artist board depicting four horses in a bucolic setting on the banks of a river. The primitive style and naive perspective give this piece of Americana a real charm. In the original carved and painted frame. With the label of the renowned 19th century New York City purveyor of paints and art supplies, F W Devoe & Co attached on back. Unsigned.
