About the Item
Fabulous oil painting called "Bouquiniste" by Spanish Artist Francisco Sillue. Rich colors with various hues of green capture this unique moment on the streets of Paris. The subject matter of the bookseller sitting by his stand and the cameos of those passing by creates great movement in this painting.
Sillue painted in Paris, Norway and Sweden in the 1960s then moving to London and eventually ending in Sitges near Barcelona. Signed on the canvas Francesco Sillue / Paris and on verso.
With more than 60 solo exhibitions, Sillue's work has been exhibited widely in galleries throughout Spain, Holland, Portugal, Norway, Germany, England, Columbia, Switzerland, France and the United States.

Francisco Sobrino
Francisco Sobrino (1932 – 11 May 2014) was a Spanish sculptor. His career began in 1959 when he moved to Paris to have a start in his career. His works can be seen in Tel Aviv, Guadalajara, Chicago, Madrid, New York City and Paris. Sobrino was born in Guadalajara, Spain and lived in Paris. Sobrino died in France on 11 May 2014, at the age of 82.
