About the Item
Over 7 feet tall and 20 feet wide, this colorful acrylic on canvas abstract expressionist painting is by Mexican-born Juan Carlos Macias, who resides in Chicago. Photographs do not do justice to this early work by Macias. Each 88" H x 80" W canvas is stretched over an internal wood frame. The sides are painted black. Measures: 88" H x 240" W.
Maci´as was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco - Mexico in 1961, studied Architecture and Plastic Arts at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico and Technical Graphic Arts and Painting at Los Angeles Valley College and presently resides in Chicago. His more recent gallery work has been figurative, but his roots are in abstract expressionism. His most recent work is also feature in Chicago's the New Irving Park Station House. Macias' early work was designed as wall paper for Maya Romanoff.
