1978 Rolling Stones - Some Girls Original Vintage Poster

About the Item

"Some Girls" was released by The Rolling Stones in 1978 and was a major critical and commercial success, also marking Ronnie Wood's debut album as a full time member of the band. Featuring hits such as "Miss You", the album became the Stones' highest selling in the USA. The album was marked by controversy however, none larger than for the album artwork from which this poster was created. Designed by regular collaborator Peter Corritson, the design features female celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland and Lucille Ball within a Valmor Products advertisement. The band were quickly threatened with legal action for the use of the likenesses without permission and the design had to be withdrawn and replaced quickly. This wonderful original poster is from the initial promotion of the album in 1978 and features the controversial original artwork.
