The poster depicts a detail from a painting by Dufy “The paddock at Deauville” (1930) visible not at the Museum of Modern Art but at the Center Pompidou.
The Museum of Modern Art of the city of Paris is located on Avenue du President Wilson.
Raoul Dufy (1877-1953) was a French painter renowned for his distinctive and colorful style. He was also a designer, engraver, book illustrator, ceramist, designer of fabrics, tapestries and furniture, interior decorator, public spaces and theater. Born in Le Havre, he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts before moving to Paris. Active in movements like Fauvism and Cubism, Dufy was known for his luminous paintings depicting modern life, festivals and maritime scenes.
