Mary Gardner Preminger Signed Print from 16th Century Buddhist Buddha Woodblock

About the Item

A quite beautiful and very rare print by American artist Mary Gardner Preminger (who at one time was married to renowned theatre and film director Otto Preminger). This work is based on a 16th century Asian woodblock (as noted in the lower margin) featuring the Buddha in a moment of quiet contemplation. The work is hand pencil signed and dated (1970) by the artist. We are assuming this is likely a one-of-a-kind work as it is not numbered and we can not find any reference to another copy. It has been previously framed and matted. Would be a nice eye-catching addition to any setting. Framed dimensions: 36.75" high, 22.75" wide, .75" deep. Viewable art: 30" high x 16" wide.

  • Leonor Fini Signed Framed Beautiful Lithograph Print Deux Femmes, circa 1970s

A beautiful lithographic print by Argentinian-born Italian surrealist painter, designer, illustrator, and author Leonor Fini titled "Deux Femmes". Leonor Fini was arguably the most ferociously and heroically independent woman artist of the 20th century. Fini herself never accepted the label of "woman artist," and likewise, never considered herself a Surrealist despite her works having been included in nearly every major Surrealism exhibition from 1936 to the present. In the 1930s she lived in Paris, France where she collaborated with, or who were influenced by such prominent 20th-century artists as Jean Cocteau, Man Ray, Leonora Carrington, Salvador Dalí, Joseph Cornell, Dora Maar, Anna Magnani, Albert Camus, Jean Genet...
