Signed Snaffles Equestrian Print, Finest View In Europe. Finest View In Europe & Worst View In Europe are most probably Snaffles most famous pair of equestrian pictures. On offer here is the titled lithograph 'Finest View In Europe' which is signed in pencil by the artist, bottom right-hand corner. The picture is in a first-person perspective with the viewer being the rider mounted on a grey horse. The view in the foreground is that of the horses head with ears pricked up, the horse just approaching a cut-and-laid fence. On the other side of the fence is the huntsman and a pack of foxhounds running hard across a Leicestershire hunting field. The remarque, bottom left, is of a fence-layer raising his hand and waving his billhook and crying out. This Charles "Snaffles" Johnson Payne (1884 1967) picture is in good original condition and framed in original black wooden frame with the Snaffles blindstamp (a bridle bit) above the signature.
