1900s Edwardian 18k Yellow Gold Oar Brooch
About the Item
An exceptional, fine and impressive antique 18 karat yellow gold, platinum set oar brooch - boxed; part of our antique Edwardian jewellery collections
This exceptional, fine and impressive antique brooch has been crafted in 18k yellow gold with platinum details.
The antique brooch has been realistically modelled in the form of two crossed oars.
The oars are each embellished to the blade tip with a plain platinum panel.
The crossed oars are enveloped to the shafts with rope twist decoration.
The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged steel pin and clasp.
The brooch is fitted to a period leatherette presentation box with a satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch.
The interior of the box bears the retailer’s mark 'Est 1805, Z. Barraclough & Sons Ltd, Goldsmiths, Leeds'.
A contemporary presentation box may be supplied upon request.
Condition
This exceptional Edwardian gold bar brooch is excellent quality, an excellent gauge of gold and is in excellent condition.
The presentation box has wear in keeping with age.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of antique jewellery/estate jewelry.
