About the Item
Handwoven glow in the dark sea foam blue glass Japanese seed beads embroidered with freshwater pearls and quartz. At the tip of the earring a large pear shaped quartz crystal stone dangles, symbolizing the sanctity and strength of water. According to the legend of the Efik peoples, whom live in southern Nigeria, Anansa is the the goddess of the sea and beauty. It is said that she possesses young girls and makes them dance the Ekombi, a dance in which its movements are derived from the motions of the sea.
