Exquisite cigarette case with Enamel Paing:
Hinged silver box with decorated lid, depiction of a young lady situated in her bed in a luxuriously furnished bedroom, Signature 'Reznicek' in the lower right corner.
Inner gilding.
Ferdinand Freiherr von Reznicek (1868 Vienna - 1909 Munich) was an Austrian painter, drawer and illustrator, having specialised on drawings on behalf of the specialist journals 'Jugend' (= Youth), 'Simplicissimus' and 'Fliegende Blaetter' (= Flying Papers). Reznicek was a skilful illustrator of elegant world of upper class - combined with an affectionately-critical touch. [WIKIPEDIA]
