GIA-Certified Unheated 2.25ct Peach Sapphire in White Gold Diamond Halo Ring
About the Item
We're in love with this boldly included natural sapphire. The GIA report (included with the ring) calls the color "yellowish orange," but in most lights, the color might be better described as "peaches on fire."
Without heat treatment, the stone's natural imperfections -- including an amazing spray of tiny bubbles -- are there for the viewing, but with the help of a very nice faceting job this sapphire's natural brilliance manages to coexist with all of its internal chaos.
The GIA report confirms the following details:
Dimensions: 7.59mm x 6.76mm x 4.81mm
Weight: 2.25 carats
Cut: Modified brilliant on top and step cut on the bottom
Treatments: None detected
We chose and set the stone in May of 2023, but the ring itself is a preset mounting from jewelry giant Stuller, probably around 15 years old. It's a straightforward double halo design intended as an engagement ring with a 1.75 carat diamond. We acquired it from a customer who wanted her diamond reset in a new ring.
We like putting unusual stones in our pre-owned engagement rings, the more traditional the better. It's our way of saying, "Okay, ring, you're officially relieved of Diamond Engagement Ring duty. Your new assignment is ALL ABOUT THE DAIQUIRIS!!"
The tiny diamonds set on the halo and the split shoulders range in size from around 1.2mm to 1.5mm. Stuller generally uses stones in the G to H color range and either SI or I clarity. We think these are H color and low SI clarity with a total weight, for all 70 stones, of between 0.55 to 0.65 carats.
We're not sure what Stuller's current policy is, but this ring predates the customary use of lab diamonds, so we can confirm all diamonds are natural, earth-mined and untreated.
The face of the ring is 11mm wide and 12.6mm tall (0.43" x 0.50"). The split shank tapers to a single band in the back, 1.8mm wide and 1mm thick. The inside of the band is stamped with the Stuller hallmark and "14K."
Currently a size 5-3/4, we will resize at no charge for full-price buyers; otherwise, resizing is negotiable.
This ring weighs 3.8 grams.

- GIA-Certified 2.29 Carat Yellow Sapphire Ring with Tiny Sapphires in 18K GoldBy Eytan BrandesLocated in Sherman Oaks, CAThis new ring by Eytan Brandes is a design he made for one of our long-time customers in platinum with diamonds as an engagement ring. He made an extra copy in 18 karat gold because he wanted a nice setting for a yellow sapphire he's had for several years. Prior to setting the stone, we had it certified by GIA, which confirmed the weight and dimensions, as well as the origin (Sri Lanka). Most important, the report confirms the stone hasn't been subjected to beryllium diffusion, which is the current scourge of the sapphire and ruby trade. The stone has been heated, which is customary and creates permanent improvement in the stone's color, but it has not been filled, chemically altered, or otherwise augmented in any way. The sapphire's intense golden yellow really sparkles thanks to a nice mixed cut (brilliant cut faceting on the crown and step cut faceting on the pavilion). The tiny blue sapphires (totaling less than 0.06 carats), set in little "leaves" on the sides, present some nice unexpected contrast. The band is slender and carinated (i.e., knife-edged), so it's actually thicker (1.8mm) than it is wide (1.6mm). A very striking, comfortable ring, in rich 18 karat yellow gold. The total ring weight is 3.9 grams. Currently a size 5.25, Eytan will resize at no charge for full-price buyers. - GIA Certified 3.55 Carat Radiant Cut Pale Yellow Diamond Halo RingLocated in Sherman Oaks, CAEytan Brandes made the gorgeous mounting that perfectly showcases this clean, natural and untreated light yellow diamond. The prongs and frame are in 18 karat yellow gold to accentuate the stone's pale yellow hue; the strong yellow of the frame also creates interesting transitional contrast with the bright white of the halo diamonds. The undergirding and band are in brushed satin platinum -- muting the shine of the mine helps delineate the individual stones and their bright white sparkle. The overall effect is a graceful white-to-yellow spectrum -- the considered product of a jeweler's homage to the beautiful pale hue of this gorgeous stone. The popularity of "fancy yellow" diamonds has been accompanied by the inevitable proliferation of artificial enhancements -- especially irradiation and the use of 24 karat gold backings -- to juke otherwise light yellow diamonds into an unnatural shade most often associated with police tape and taxicabs. We think a pale natural yellow diamond is beautiful as-is. The stone comes with a GIA certificate dated August 18, 2018 (#6193551278) verifying its color (O-P), clarity (VS2) and size (3.55 carats). All of the smaller stones are fine quality, brilliant-cut melee. The pavé halo is beautifully set, with the stones of the innermost ring facing UP and those in the outer ring facing OUT, creating the impression that the diamonds roll...Category

- GIA Certified H/VS2 1.03 Carat Diamond in Bombe Edwardian-Style Platinum RingBy Eytan BrandesLocated in Sherman Oaks, CAEytan Brandes designed this ring using various elements he likes from Edwardian engagement rings, such as the carinated shank, the coin-edged pavé setting plates, and the elevated, almost bombé face. This is the second time he has used this mounting, and this is the first time he's set it entirely in diamonds. The center prong-set diamond is a clean and beautiful brilliant cut round stone weighing 1.03 carats. The prongs rise from a band (not actually a bezel) around the stone, minimizing the prongy effect, and keeping the stone's elevation at a graceful minimum. The dramatically curved face of the mounting is made up of little coin-edged plates, joined from below. Each plate hosts between one and five stones meticulously set by our best gem-setter. The little banner-shaped plates around the center stone give it a whimsical eight-pointed star halo, while the long plates...Category

- GIA-Certified 1.99 Carat Oval Sapphire in Platinum Edwardian-Style Bombe SettingLocated in Sherman Oaks, CAEytan Brandes designed this ring using various elements he likes from Edwardian engagement rings, such as the carinated band, the coin-edged pavé setting plates, and the elevated, almost puffy face. But while a ring like this would traditionally be set with diamonds, Eytan gave it a more striking, contemporary look by setting it entirely in sapphires. The center prong-set sapphire is a nearly round oval. To maximize both its color and its sparkle, a mixed cut has been used (i.e., the crown is brilliant cut, while the pavilion is a step cut). Included with the ring is a GIA report authenticating the stone as a natural, heat-treated sapphire weighing 1.99 carats. The pavé mounting is made up of little coin...Category
