About the Item

A serene winter scene presents bare trees against a dusky sky with hints of yellow and green light filtering through the branches. Snow blankets the ground, showing subtle shifts in color and texture, suggesting the quiet cold of a winter twilight. In this picture I tried to convey the quiet but piercing beauty of frosty winter twilight. Using oil paints allowed me to mix colors and apply painterly textures to capture the soft, warm sky and the glow of the setting sun behind the bare trees. I used impressionism as a technique and style, conveying not only the charm of the motif, but also the calm loneliness of the moment, inviting the viewer to contemplate. This piece of art exudes a quiet energy that can bring a sense of peace and reflection to any space it is placed in.
