This Horse Bust - Sculpture is an original artwork realized by the Italian artist Domenico Mazzone (Rutigliano, Bari, 1927-1999) during the 20th century. Lost wax bronze sculpture mounted on a Guatemala green marble base. Edition of 99 exemplars. Dimensions: cm 15 x 14 (base); cm 20 x 37 (sculpture). Very good conditions. Elegant horse bust with mane mounted on a refined marble. Guatemala green marble, as its name suggests, is a marble coming from India, also known ad India Green; it is characterized by an intense green color with white veins with an irregular and uneven shape. Domenico Mazzone was a great artist who became an American citizen during the 1970's. He was given the nomination of sculpture instructor at the United Nations International School of New York; during those years he portrayed famous people such as Lady Diana, Mother Teresa of Calcutta and Frank Sinatra. American critics have called him on several occasions Master of sorrow, despite a wide range of human feelings are represented in his works: pain, happiness, tenderness and serenity.
