Victoria Kovalenchikova’s artworks are an outlook at the transformation of the world surrounding us; a shout in the cold infinity of cosmos. It is an attempt to understand the impact of people on the planet through the language of art. The contemporary trend in her paintings is characterized by a figurative integration of abstract elements. Creatively mixing media from cement, resin, acrylic and epoxy on stretched canvas, Victoria’s work is simultaneously sculptural and painting. The surface of this 32 inch tall by 48 inch wide artwork is covered with a shiny layer of clear, glass-like resin, which enhances the colors and adds depth. It can be installed as a horizontal as well as vertical artwork. The sculptural, gray and black elements protrude beyond the smoother, parts of the artwork. The sides are finished as a continuation of the front, creating more layers and detailing. It is signed, titled and dated on back by the artist. Bright, small abstract expressionist painting of red, white and blue hues by California artist Tom Hamil (American, b. 1928). Signed upper left corner "Hamil". Condition: Excellent. Presented in rustic wooden shadow box frame. Image size: 2.75"H x 6.75"W. Tom Hamil, was born in New York in 1928 and raised primarily in California. After attending the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, he returned to California to begin his formal art training at the California School of Fine Arts in San Francisco (now known as the San Francisco Art Institute). He completed his education at the University of Washington with a Master’s Degrees and Doctorate in Fine Arts and Education. His first solo exhibition was held in 1956. Since then, he has participated in numerous one man shows, group shows, and has been represented in galleries in the US and Mexico. In addition to his painting, Hamil has authored and illustrated a number of books. While at the Naval Academy, he received recognition for his paintings, drawings, and illustrations. Listed among Hamil’s many awards and honors are a Ford Foundation Fellowship and an Award of Excellence from the American Graphics Society. Thus residents of places like Seattle living in a relatively balmy clime beside the Pacific's mild Japan current, can drive in an hour or two up to where skiing material is sometimes twenty feet thick if it's an inch. Indeed, when seasons overlap, a downlander might conceivably pick a rose and go skiing with it in his buttonhole. All of which, thanks to highway crews who blow off the blizzards, is a very felicitous geographic arrangement." John Ford Clymer's success as an artist can be traced to his boyhood in the Kittitas Valley located in the central regions of Washington state. It was there that he developed an enthusiasm for the world around him and an abiding respect for historical accuracy. Over the years John Clymer received numerous awards and honors including the revered Prix de West in 1976, from the national Academy of Western Art.
