About the Item
First Connections is a unique white Carrara marble sculpture by contemporary artist Francesca Bernardini, dimensions are 24 × 40 × 10 cm (9.4 × 15.7 × 3.9 in). The sculpture is maintained on the iron base with a rod but it is movable.
This sculpture is a unique piece signed by the artist and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
The Connections series praises the dialogue between human beings, between different peoples and cultures. While travelling abroad, the artist has been able to observe and appreciate the benefits of dialogue: fruitful collaborations and positive energies for the benefit of art and its dissemination. Visually, these concepts are translated into sculptures composed of several elliptical or elongated elements that stand side by side, creating a balance of full and empty spaces, a harmony of shapes and volumes.
The smooth, rounded forms of Francesca Bernardini's marble sculptures are based on mental states, feelings, and individual experiences. The forms and volumes that give them shape are frequently influenced by the natural world and are rich in symbolism connected to enduring themes, such as individual growth, the value of interpersonal relationships, respect for nature, and the life cycle.

Francesca Bernardini’s marble sculptures, with their smooth, rounded forms, are rooted in states of mind, emotions and personal experiences. The shapes and volumes that give them form are often inspired by the natural world and are loaded with symbolism linked to universal themes: personal development, the importance of human interaction, respect for nature and the cycle of life. Francesca Bernardini participates in numerous sculpture symposia around the world such as in Morocco, Turkey, Taiwan, Chile, Iran and Brazil. During these professional excursions, the sculptor has the opportunity to create monumental sculptures. “Inspired by the observation of the microcosm of the natural world, my work highlights particular details and distorts dimensions, my forms becoming containers of past life or of inner or emotional metamorphoses.”

Goethe: “Character is formed in the stormy billows of the world.” Taking up life’s tasks can require one to go against the wind. The feeling of determination to achieve and continue steering through obstacles is poured into the pure forms; a dynamic balancing of the straight and curve on different axes. "With a rounded starting point," Pisapia explains, "I add on a variety of disparate angles, diverse curves, and twisting planes. I carve and smooth the surfaces, bringing out particular tensions and transitions." Flavius Valone Pisapia is an Italian-Romanian artist born in Bucharest in 1981. "It's important for me to experience the world at a deeper level by penetrating the veil of the senses. Through an immersive process the essence, beauty and the pure form of an idea are gradually revealed to me. The emerging awareness flows into my artwork imbuing it with a higher reality. To achieve this awareness in my creative process, I go through three stages: imagination, inspiration and intuition." - Flavius PisapiaCategory
