Mildred Nordman majored in art at the University of Iowa. She worked as a fashion illustrator in Los Angeles and taught at the University of Hawaii. She settled in Santa Cruz, California. Working in oil, watercolor and acrylics, she painted landscapes in the Santa Cruz area.
