André Elbaz (born April 26, 1934, El Jadida, Morocco) is a famous Moroccan painter and filmmaker. Elbaz studied art and theatre in Rabat and Paris from 1950 to 1961. He started painting only at the age of 21, until which age he had been interested mainly in theatre. A few years later, he managed to combine his two passions into a new approach in art-therapy, inventing together with his wife, a psychiatrist, the Pictodrame, which brought him world recognition. His first exhibition, which was very successful, took place in Casablanca in 1961 and earned him an appointment as Professor at the Beaux-Arts school in Casablanca. Years later, in 1976, he exhibited his paintings at the Tel-Aviv Museum. In parallel to his career as a painter, Elbaz is also known as a filmmaker. He produced several short films in France, Canada and the United States. One of them, La nuit n'est jamais complète (The night is never complete), won a prize at the "5th Biennale de Paris in 1967" .[citation needed] Among the themes chosen for the many films he produced, there was a short one about the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, as well as a series of drawings entitled Seuls (Alone), with texts written by both Elie Wiesel...

"Short Spurts" (Abstract, Vivid Pink, Feminine, Women, Painting, Antique Wood)
By Nicholas Evans
Located in Paris, IDF
SHORT SPURTS 2021 Paris, France This piece is a visual interpretation of a poem the artist wrote around frenzied, short-sighted behaviors: “That part usually stays hidden. Those colors are not known for blending. Us? We come from a rib. And we tangle ourselves in the traps we set for our prey.” - Nicholas Evans The painting is composed of plaster, oil and acrylic, with the main detail shape, in white, positioned over wood glue, leaving a slightly raised effect. Embracing the unique imperfections of reclaimed objects aged over time, Evans uses antique found...

Uniform Language "Camo" 52 paintings
By Stephanie Peek
Located in Burlingame, CA
Stephanie Peek's "Uniform Language" Camo paintings showcasing an assortment of worldwide camouflage (both historic and contemporary) from countries around the world. The complete installation includes 52 original works that are each 10 x 10 inches. Can be hung in an assortment of ways. The artwork comes with a template for installation as shown below. The series started following 9/11 with the bombing of the World Trade Center in NY. and continues to today. Stephanie Peek's "Uniform Language" is a constellation of small painting on alabaster-coated wood panels featuring camouflage patterns of nations worldwide. Peek’s fascination with these patterns stems from her observation of nature (including her studies of flowers, for which the artist is well known), and compositions of shapes and color relationships. When hung in the configuration shown, the overall dimension is 77 inches tall x 132 inches wide. The artwork can hang in a variety of configurations. Each camp painting is 10 x 10 inches. Fascinated by how various countries use camouflage patterns to represent and to disguise themselves and their military equipment, the artist explores how countries see themselves in this pattern language that speaks of power and fear, while also considering each painting a prayer for peace. Artist's statement, Early in the 20th century, the United States military adapted the nature studies of American painter Abbot Thayer...
