Very old bronze Buddha head from Thailand/Ayutthaya Dynasty/17th-18th century

About the Item

This is the head of a bronze Buddha statue made in ancient times in Thailand. It is believed to be a Buddha statue made during the late Ayutthaya period (17th to 18th century). Unlike the Buddha statues made during the previous dynasty, the Sukhothai Dynasty, they are richly decorated, with crowns, earrings, necklaces, etc., and designs that emphasize the greatness of the Buddha statues. Also, since a similar item was published in an art book, I have included a photo of it as a reference. This Buddha statue remains up to the chest area, so you can clearly see its decorativeness and artistry. You can also see from the back that it was originally painted gold. There was probably a time in the past when Japanese people who went to Thailand bought Buddhist statues like this, and there are still small oak Thai Buddha statues left in Japan. This one was also owned by a Japanese collector. It's a beautiful Buddha statue. The size is small, so why not display it in your living room or add it to your collection room? I also want as many people as possible to know the quality of antiques, so I keep my prices reasonable. The size of the Buddha statue itself w9.3cm d4.6cm h15.8cm Overall size including pedestal w10.5cm d5cm h18.5cm Weight 642g
